Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield, who helped lead the Sooners to the College Football Playoff last year, is poised for a big 2016 season. This week, Athlon Sports sat down with Mayfield for an interesting interview - touching on the star signal-caller's athleticism, OU's turning point last year and the team's Orange Bowl collapse. He also praised the fans of one of Oklahoma's 2015 opponents.
Mayfield, when asked which stadium he enjoyed playing in the most, mentioned Tennessee's Neyland Stadium. Here's the quote:
You can’t beat the Cotton Bowl. There’s nothing like that. But last year when we went to play Tennessee in Neyland Stadium, that was probably the best game experience I’ve had and probably will ever have. That’s a different type of loud. I can’t even describe it. It was unbelievable.
Mayfield, if you remember, was instrumental in leading Oklahoma to a come-from-behind victory last September at Neyland.
Mayfield also made it clear that Oklahoma's rivalry with Oklahoma State is far bigger than the one it has with Texas. You can check out the entire interview over at Athlon Sports.
