Baker Mayfield is not 100-percent heading into the Rose Bowl, but he will be on the field when Oklahoma takes on Georgia.
The two College Football Playoff semifinalists had an event at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim today, but Baker Mayfield, the newly-crowned Heisman Trophy winner, was nowhere to be found.
Luckily for Oklahoma, it doesn't seem to be anything too serious.
Head coach Lincoln Riley issued a brief update on his status today.
Riley went on to jokingly reassure everyone that his star quarterback's "gonna live."
According to USA Today, tight end Mark Andrews said that Mayfield "practiced perfectly" today, and posited that he probably just has a cold.
Oklahoma made sure to include Mayfield in a Twitter slideshow of photos from practice today.
So this doesn't really seem like a true cause for concern. If it's just a light cold, there's a good chance that Mayfield feels fine come Monday. And even if not, he's a gamer.
Oklahoma and Georgia kick off at 5:00 p.m. ET on January 1. Oklahoma opened as a 1.5-point favorite, but the line has flipped, and Georgia is now laying between 1.5 and 2.5 points at most sportsbooks, with some having it as a pick'em, according to OddsShark.
