How high will Baker Mayfield be drafted this April?
Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield doesn't have the physical tools that some of his fellow NFL Draft hopefuls have heading into April, but he's still one of the most intriguing prospects in the country. Some analysts even think that Mayfield could go as high as No. 5 overall in the draft.
This week, NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah attempted to sum up Mayfield's resume in three words. No, one of them is not "troublemaker."
Jeremiah used the words "anticipates," "accurate," and "creative" to describe Mayfield. The real question. Do those three attributes lead to a solid NFL career?
Mayfield stands at 6-foot-1, 220 pounds. As a result, he's getting some Drew Brees comparisons.
Mayfield does seem to have good pocket sense, and his statistics suggest he's a very accurate passer. He also has a little bit of flair in him - many have compared him to Johnny Manziel as a result.
Mayfield, this past season, led Oklahoma to a Big 12 title and a College Football Playoff berth, throwing for 4,627 yards and 43 touchdowns against just six interceptions.
He won the Heisman Trophy, too.
Mayfield will be one of the most scrutinized players leading up to this year's NFL Draft. Whichever team winds up drafting him will wind up taking a bit of a gamble either way.
