Tomorrow night, college football fans will be treated to a spectacular matchup between two iconic programs, Alabama and Oklahoma, in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. For most of the season, Alabama was the class of college football, and many observers believed that the Crimson Tide would cruise its way to another national championship game appearance.
Of course, the national title dreams got derailed for Alabama against Auburn, but that isn't stopping Oklahoma from giving the Tide the utmost respect -- Sooners coach Bob Stoops heaped praise on Nick Saban's team this afternoon:
Oklahoma is a pretty good team itself, racking up a 10-2 record this season, with the only two losses coming to talented Baylor and Texas teams. While the Sooners know they are facing a huge challenge, they aren't embracing a true underdog mentality:
