Once seen as a possible Big 12 Championship Game preview, the Oklahoma-Iowa State game will have some serious implications this weekend. Both teams are coming off a bye following a surprise loss, and both teams will likely fall out of Big 12 title contention with a loss on Saturday.
Oklahoma was stunned at Bill Snyder Family Stadium late last month. They lost the lead to then-unranked Kansas State and failed to get it back en route to a 48-41 loss. Though they still control their own destiny in the Big 12 title race, the Sooners have no room for error if they want to return to the College Football Playoff.
As for the Iowa State Cyclones, they too are coming off a loss, this one against Oklahoma State in their own backyard. But much like Oklahoma, they can conceivably get to the Big 12 title game if they can win out.
ESPN analyst Bill Connelly has made his prediction for the Oklahoma-Iowa State game. Using the SP+ model, he determined that the Sooners will beat the Cyclones 37-27.

The Oklahoma-Iowa State game boasts two of the best coaches in the conference, with Lincoln Riley going up against Matt Campbell. Both coaches are believed to have NFL teams looking into hiring them in the near future.
With their seasons possibly on the line, it will be fun to see how the coaching battle shapes up.
The game will be played at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium at 7:00 p.m. EST. It will air on FOX.
