ESPN Says These Big 12 Teams Are College Football Playoff Contenders

ESPN posted a roundtable discussion this morning in which its college football writers attempt to decide how many College Football Playoff contenders there are in each conference.

How many teams from the Big 12 does ESPN believe can contend for a spot in the College Football Playoff?

Four.

Oklahoma is the "unquestioned favorite" in the conference, but Oklahoma State, TCU and Baylor all have the potential to win the league and receive a College Football Playoff berth, too.

From the discussion:

Oklahoma State returns an experienced team and an offense that could be explosive with quarterback Mason Rudolph and receiver James Washington forming one of the Big 12’s top duos. Baylor looks like it has reloaded, making the sky the limit with healthy quarterbacks Seth Russell and Jarrett Stidham returning to run the offense. And TCU, despite losing game-changing quarterback Trevone Boykin, could feature the Big 12’s top defense and loads of young skill talent on offense.

That seems fair.

Oklahoma has to be considered the favorite, and with the Big 12's everyone-plays-everyone format, the best team - which we think is the Sooners - should win the conference. But Oklahoma State, Baylor and TCU all have the tools necessary to upset OU and take the league.

Who are you picking?
