On Saturday afternoon, Baylor and Oklahoma took the field for their second contest of the season – except this game had different stakes. After Utah’s loss to Oregon in the Pac-12 title game, the door is wide open for either Baylor or Oklahoma to make the College Football Playoff.
The winner of today’s game will make the playoff, if LSU takes down Georgia in the SEC title game.
With so much on the line, things turned ugly for the Bears in the second quarter.
Star quarterback Charlie Brewer took a nasty shot from Oklahoma linebacker Kenneth Murray. He laid on the ground for a moment before wobbling off under his own power.
Here’s the play.

Brewer eventually came back into the game after getting checked out by medical staff. However, on Baylor’s next possession, backup quarterback Gerry Bohanon was under center.
According to multiple reports, Brewer is in the Baylor locker room getting check out by the medical staff.

Losing Brewer would be a major blow to Baylor’s chances to win the Big 12 title game.
Bohanon has only attempted 21 passes this season and no other bears quarterback has more than three pass attempts.
Stay tuned for the latest on Brewer heading into halftime.
