Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts entered his name into the NCAA’s transfer portal earlier this week, which means that more likely than not, his days with the Crimson Tide are over. It turns out his father has reportedly been helping his son out regarding his next move.
Hurts is reportedly visiting Maryland tonight and Miami on Sunday, but it’s a third program that could still be the favorite to land his services.
According to Carey Murdock of Sooner Scoop, Hurts’ father Averion reached out to Oklahoma a month ago about the idea of a transfer to the Sooners.
Here’s more, via Sooner Scoop:
So do we know that Riley will take Jalen Hurts? Yes. He absolutely would.
We’ve even been told Oklahoma is already preparing the necessary paperwork to facilitate the transfer.
And Hurts’ father, Averion, had reached out to Oklahoma over a month ago about this potential transfer. This would be a move that has Hurts’ families blessing.
Adding fuel to the fire, Oklahoma quarterback Austin Kendall reportedly entered his name into the NCAA’s transfer portal on Friday.
Hurts, a two-year starter for Alabama, lost his starting job to Tua Tagovailoa during last year’s national title game. Tagovailoa is expected to retain the job in 2019.
We’ll know more this weekend after hearing about how Hurts’ visits went.
