The college football season officially kicked off last weekend with an in-state battle between Florida and Miami. The Gators held off the Hurricanes to avoid a season-opening upset with a 24-20 victory.

One other top team might not be so lucky.

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit put on team on upset watch heading into this weekend's action.

He thinks Oklahoma will receive all it can handle against Houston. Led by star quarterback D'Eriq King, the Cougars will "take this matchup down to the wire with the Sooners winning, but getting a scare."

Here's the prediction from Herbie.

Both program underwent significant change in the offseason. Oklahoma lost star quarterback Kyler Murray to the NFL, but landed former Alabama star Jalen Hurts to fill in.

Meanwhile, Houston fired head coach Major Applewhite and replaced him with former West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen.

D'Eriq King burst onto the scene last season and was in the Heisman Trophy race before he suffered a season-ending injury. Now he looks to lead a revamped Cougars team over Lincoln Riley and the Sooners in the season-opener.

Oklahoma and Houston are scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. ET kick off on Sunday night. The game will be broadcast on ABC.
