It’s been quite the magical year for Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray. A record-setting season at Oklahoma preceded a Big 12 title, a CFP appearance, a Heisman trophy win, and by tomorrow will also include a first-round NFL Draft selection. But things just keep getting better for Murray, and his latest endorsement deal proves it.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Murray revealed that he is now being endorsed by Nike. The announcement came with a promo video from his time in high school and college, followed by a powerful message at the end:
“…I’ve always dreamed of being a professional athlete. But honestly, I’d like to be the best that ever played the game.”
Murray is only one day away from making the first half of that dream come true. He is expected to be drafted in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, with many projecting him as the No. 1 overall pick.
In his one year as a starter for the Oklahoma Sooners, Murray rewrote the record books with an astounding 42 touchdowns, 4,361 passing yards, and a 69.0-percent completion rate.
On the ground, he was equally unstoppable, going for 1,001 yards and 12 touchdowns on only 140 carries.
Murray led the Sooners to a 11-1 regular season record before beating Texas in the Big 12 Championship Game.
Oklahoma was then invited to the College Football Playoff, where they would go on to lose to Alabama in the Orange Bowl.
The 2019 NFL Draft begins at 8 p.m. E.T. on Thursday.
