Yesterday, Kyler Murray made the biggest decision of his career, choosing the NFL over the MLB. Now, the Heisman Trophy winner is taking the next step to insure he’s prepared for every scenario leading up to the draft.
One of the main concerns surrounding Murray was his lack of an actual agent that worked with other clients in the NFL. Due to the fact that he was previously drafted by the Oakland Athletics, Scott Boras represented him from the baseball side of business.
With Murray fully committed to becoming a quarterback at the highest level, his agent choice has been announced. It actually might spark an interesting debate around the league.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, Murray has chosen Erik Burkhardt as his agent.
Considering that Burkhardt also represents Kliff Kingsbury, there could be a plethora of people wondering if the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals selects Murray with the first overall pick.
Even though Arizona drafted Josh Rosen last season fairly early, Kingsbury raved about Murray during his time in college football.
Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray chose Erik Burkhardt as his agent, per sources.
Burkhardt also represents Cardinals’ HC Kliff Kingsbury, who said last fall he would take Murray if he had the No. 1 overall pick.

While every step closer to football is encouraging for those ready to watch him on the gridiron, it’s unfortunate for the Athletics to lose out on their top selection.
However, it’s not everyday that an athlete has the talent and potential to be a first-round pick in two drafts for professional leagues.
Murray will have his opportunity to impress scouts later this month during the NFL Combine.
