The Oklahoma Sooners kept their undefeated season alive on Saturday afternoon with a huge win over the Texas Longhorns.
Star quarterback Jalen Hurts accounted for over 360 yards of offense and four touchdowns en route to a 34-27 win. While Oklahoma failed to reach its season-average in points per game, the defense stepped up in a big way.
The Sooners’ defensive front dominated Texas’ offensive line as quarterback Sam Ehlinger failed to get comfortable in the pocket.
After the game, head coach Lincoln Riley was asked about the win. “You can play great defense at Oklahoma and we damn well sure did today,” Riley said.

Oklahoma looked like a team capable of competing for a national title on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Sooners have a legitimate road to the College Football Playoff.
They won’t face another team as talented as Texas until, well likely, Texas in the Big 12 title game.
Oklahoma faces only one more currently-ranked program, Baylor, during the regular season. With Hurts under center, the Sooners boast one of the most dangerous offenses in college football.
Now it looks like their defense has what it takes to compete with the big boys as well.
Oklahoma hosts West Virginia next weekend.
