College football fans aren’t usually in favor of their star athletes playing more than one sport on-campus. Why? Well, two main reasons. One – it limits the amount of time players can focus on football. And two – it increases the odds that players will get hurt. Oklahoma baseball tried to pull a fast one on Sooners fans Thursday night.
The OU Baseball Twitter account teased that star quarterback Baker Mayfield would be joining the team…
…to throw out the first pitch on Opening Day this year. That’s tomorrow – against Northeastern.

Mayfield, after leading the Sooners to the College Football Playoff last year, is a fan favorite on-campus. And for the record, he did play high school baseball.
