Oklahoma is pretty definitively a football school, but every so often the Sooners produce a transcendent basketball star. In 2009, it was forward Blake Griffin, who has developed into one of the NBA's best power forwards. This year, it was sharp-shooting guard Buddy Hield, who led the Sooners to their first Final Four since 2002.
During those campaigns, Griffin and Hield picked up a ton of personal hardware. Griffin swept the six major player of the year awards, while Hield won the Wooden Award, Naismith Player of the Year, the Oscar Robertson Trophy, and two Big 12 player of the year awards. OU basketball compared the two impressive trophy hauls with a very cool Instagram post.
If you are a basketball star that wants to fill up a trophy case, you can definitely get it done in Norman.
