Frisco (TX) Lone Star wide receiver Marvin Mims has had a whirlwind of a recruitment. The talented prospect has been committed to Stanford since early August. But it appears Mims has had a change of heart.
The 5-foot-11 WR announced his decommittment from Stanford and subsequent commitment to Lincoln Riley and the University of Oklahoma on Thursday evening. He kept his commitment announcement short and sweet, accompanied with a few pictures of a recent visit to Oklahoma.

The decision comes as no surprise. Mims took a visit to Oklahoma in October while still being a Stanford commit. It was a clear indication he was still exploring his options.
This is a huge pickup for the Sooners.
Mims currently ranks as a 4-star prospect and the No. 54 receiver in the 2020 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s also currently rated the 304th best overall prospect in his class.
Oklahoma’s 2020 class now ranks as the 10th best in the nation and No. 2 in the Big 12. Mims is the Sooners’ 11th highest rated prospect of all their 2020 commits.
Mims will be another explosive offensive weapon for Riley and Oklahoma’s innovative system.
