The College Football Playoff rankings didn’t do Oklahoma any favors, but the program has a chance to make the postseason if it wins out. It all starts this weekend when the Sooners face the Iowa State Cyclones.
Oklahoma is coming off an upset loss to Kansas State. Lincoln Riley had two weeks to get his players ready for Iowa State.
While there are plenty of reasons to like Oklahoma’s offense and how Jalen Hurts is performing in that system, there are just as many concerns for the defense.
Riley is going to need his defense to step up this Saturday against the Cyclones. Iowa State is averaging 479.5 yards per game this season as Matt Campbell continues to show he’s a bright offensive mind.
Most predictions have the Sooners bouncing back this weekend when they face the Cyclones. However, there’s one analyst in particular that believes an upset is brewing in Norman.
Ralph D. Russo of the Associated Press surprisingly has Iowa State winning 35-34 over Oklahoma.
Another loss for the Sooners would officially end any hope of them making the College Football Playoff. It would also give the Cyclones a legitimate shot at making the Big 12 Championship.
Do you think Oklahoma gets back in the win column on Saturday, or will Iowa State pull off the upset?
