Oklahoma linebacker Tay Evans' football career has ended prematurely due to head injuries.
This evening, the redshirt sophomore released a heartfelt statement on Twitter, thanking head coach Bob Stoops, the Oklahoma fans and his teammates for their support.
Evans, who started the first three games of this season, has been put on medical scholarship and offered a spot as a student assistant. As of earlier today, he had yet to accept or decline it.
As hard as this has to be for Evans, his health is paramount to his football career. It seems like he is facing this setback with a positive attitude and has a good support system.
We wish him the best.
