Oklahoma To Play 5th-Straight 11 AM Game Next Saturday

Oklahoma football fans have been making their calendars for the same kickoff time each of the last three weeks. By the end of the month it’ll be five straight 11 a.m. CT kicks in a row for the Sooners.

The Oklahoma-Kansas State game next week has been earmarked for an 11 a.m. kickoff. In the past three weeks, OU has played Texas Tech, Kansas, and Texas at the exact same time.

This week’s game against West Virginia will also be an 11 a.m. (noon ET) kickoff.

Oklahoma at Kansas State is 11 am next week.

The team that carries the Big 12 Conference will play its fifth straight 11 am game.

Having five straight morning games isn’t much fun, as a wide array of Sooners fans made clear. They want to see their team playing in primetime, which has not happened since Week 3.

As the premier team in the Big 12 Conference, it seems odd that Texas-Kansas or Kansas-Texas Tech will be playing in the evening instead of Oklahoma.

Texas Tech: 11 a.m.
Kansas: 11 a.m.
Texas: 11 a.m.
West Virginia: 11 a.m.
Kansas State: 11 a.m.

Oklahoma is undefeated (6-0) and ranked No. 5 in the country, but you’re gonna play the Sooners’ games during brunch and right after Saturday morning cartoons?

The Sooners are 6-0 and have won 24 of their last 25 regular season games. In that span they’ve also won two Big 12 titles and two spots in the College Football Playoff while fielding two Heisman Trophy winners.

With Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts currently playing like a Heisman contender, it’s even more baffling that the Big 12 wouldn’t make more of his games available for a primetime audience.

But November should offer some potential evening matchups. Iowa State and Baylor are both still in contention for the Big 12 title. One or both of those games should be in the evening.
