The 114th edition of the Bedlam Series will feature two high-octane offenses as Oklahoma State hosts Big 12 leader Oklahoma.
Oklahoma has proven extremely resilient in its last few games. The Sooners have knocked off the likes of Baylor, Iowa State and TCU to clinch yet another spot in the Big 12 title game. But winning those games was far from easy. The three aforementioned wins were by combined eight points. Even if they win, the Sooners won’t go far in impressing the CFB Playoff voters without a dominating performance against a tough opponent.
Oklahoma State has very quietly positioned itself as the third best team in the Big 12. Despite losing three of their first four games against Big 12 foes, they’ve strung together four straight wins and now stand at 8-3 on the year. Had Baylor beaten Oklahoma a few weeks back, this game would be a play-in for the Big 12 Championship Game.
It should be a high-scoring affair, and the spread certainly seems to bear that out. But Oklahoma is still the team to beat as a double-digit road favorite.
Here are the details for the Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State game:
Game Time: 8:00 PM ET
Spread: Oklahoma -13
Announcers: Joe Davis, Brock Huard, Bruce Feldman
Lincoln Riley and Mike Gundy have both thrown the defensive playbook out the window for this game. Their two prior meetings have seen scoring outputs of 114 and 95 total points scored.
If the Sooners have any hope of returning to the College Football Playoff, they need to avoid an upset loss at all costs.
