The Oklahoma Sooners have their first road game of the season this weekend when they head to Pasadena to take on the UCLA Bruins.
In prior years Oklahoma fans might be a bit concerned in taking on a Pac-12 team on the road this early in the year. But UCLA is in freefall, losing to Cincinnati and San Diego State to start the season.
The Bruins seem all but ready to pull the plug on head coach Chip Kelly after less than two years. They’ve been outscored 47-28 in their first two games this year. Meanwhile, Oklahoma has yet to go a quarter without scoring a touchdown.
Last year the Sooners beat the Bruins 49-21 at home. But Oklahoma may have just as easy a time beating UCLA in the Rose Bowl as they did beating South Dakota last week.
Here are the details for the game:
Game Time: 8:00 PM ET
Spread: Oklahoma -23.5
Announcers: Joe Davis, Brock Huard
Oklahoma and UCLA have played only five other times in their history, with the Sooners winning four of those games. The Bruins’ lone win over the Sooners came at the Rose Bowl in 2005.
But don’t look for history to repeat itself in 2019.
