Source At Oklahoma Calls Dorial Green-Beckham A "Once-In-A-Decade Talent"

New Oklahoma wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham was not just a 5-star recruit, he was the top player in the class of 2012. That puts him in a very small group that includes players like Mark Sanchez, Beanie Wells, Terrelle Pryor, and Jadeveon Clowney. While he has certainly had his issues at Missouri, it's hard to imagine that there aren't more schools than just Oklahoma that would take a talent like him in, despite what some coaches might say

One unnamed person at Oklahoma shares that view. He told The Oklahoman's Jason Kersey that Green-Beckham isn't just any blue chip receiver.

But did the decision ultimately come down to Green-Beckham’s tremendous — and rare — talent? You bet it did.

“People need to remember: We didn’t pull this kid out of the garbage dump,” said one OU source. “He could have went almost anywhere he wanted.

“The average person doesn’t understand he is a once-in-a-decade talent.”

Oklahoma is certainly taking a risk in bringing DGB in, but it is a calculated one. If he takes one misstep, Bob Stoops can kick him off the team with little resistance. If he stays on the straight-and-narrow, OU becomes that much more deadly on offense.
