Ruffin McNeill To Become Oklahoma's Assistant Head Coach

Oklahoma will officially add Ruffin McNeill to the football staff.

Oklahoma's Lincoln Riley has made his first move as head coach of the Sooners, and he'll be bringing back a familiar face from his Texas Tech and East Carolina days.

Riley has added Ruffin McNeill, a former Texas Tech assistant coach and East Carolina head coach, to the staff as a defensive line coach and assistant head coach.

Most recently, McNeill served as an assistant head coach and defensive line coach at Virginia. He's also held various positions with UNLV and Appalachian state—among other schools during his 37-year coaching career.

Riley spent five years under McNeill as offensive coordinator from 2010-2015, and the two also coached at Texas Tech together from 2003-2009.

According to an OU press release, McNeill will be an assistant head coach and a defensive tackle coach for the Sooners.
