On Saturday night, the Oklahoma Sooners escaped the West Virginia Mountaineers upset bid with a 16-13 win.
However, the win didn’t come without its hiccups. Starting quarterback Spencer Rattler struggled to find much success against the West Virginia defense and heard as much from Sooners fans in the stands.
Fans booed the Oklahoma offense on several occasions. Fans even started chanting for Rattler’s backup, Caleb Williams, to enter the game. “We want Caleb!” fans chanted on Saturday night.
Despite the jeers from the fans in the stands, Rattler stayed humble and led his team to victory. Following the close win, he even found some time to take a selfie with a young fan.

After the game, Rattler was asked about being booed during the game. He didn’t let it get to him, though.
“I don’t worry about that all,” Rattler said of the boos after the game on ESPN. “I don’t listen to them, they’re not on the field.”
The sophomore quarterback ended the game 26-for-36 with 256 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Next up for Rattler and the Sooners is a trip to Manhattan, Kansas for a battle against the Kansas State Wildcats.
