According to 247Sports, the Louisiana native visited Oklahoma Friday, and that was apparently enough to get the 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive end to change his mind in favor of the Sooners.
James also had offers from Kansa, Colorado State and Cincinnati.
With his commitment, Oklahoma has the No. 1 ranked recruiting class in the Big 12 for 2017, and the No. 12 ranked class in the nation, per 247Sports. He's the only strong side defensive end in the class.
