The college basketball season is still young, but Oklahoma guard Buddy Hield is making a very strong case as a national player of the year candidate. Through 12 games, Hield is averaging 24.6 points per game, and is shooting a hair under 50-percent from both the field and three-point range, and over 90-percent from the free throw line. Hield has almost unlimited range, and during a practice today, OU assistant athletic director Mike Houck watched him hit 34 straight shots from beyond the arc.
