In late October, a scary scene unfolded at Oklahoma after one of the Sooners’ touchdowns. As is customary, the Sooner Schooner went out for a stroll to celebrate the score. Unfortunately, the horses turned too quickly and sent the Sooner Schooner tipping over.
Senior Associate Athletic Director Kenny Mossman released a statement announcing the Schooner would not run for the rest of the season after it suffered damage in the crash.
It appears he lied.

Earlier this week, the University of Oklahoma announced it is seeking the help of a “professional wagon builder” to build a new Sooner Schooner.
By the looks of things, the university doesn’t need a new wagon. However the school could have provided a temporary fix to the old Sooner Schooner – enough for it to run today and then retire it later.
Oklahoma leads Baylor 7-0 in the first quarter thanks to a touchdown run from Kennedy Brooks.
Stay tuned for the latest.
