The Oklahoma Sooners got a big boost on Wednesday when 4-star DB Jeremiah Criddell announced he was joining Lincoln Riley's side. But it isn't only Sooners fans who were excited by the news.

Following Criddell's public announcement that he'd be committing to Oklahoma, the Sooners coaching staff was seen on video literally jumping for joy at the news.

The celebrations lasted for nearly a minute and even stretched into the coaches office hallway, where Riley and company were greeted by even more smiling members of the Oklahoma staff.

Riley and his assistants certainly have good reason to be excited by Criddell's commitment.

Criddell is the No. 124 ranked prospect in the country, the No. 12 safety in the country, and the No. 18 prospect from the state of California, according to 247Sports.

In joining the Sooners, Criddell becomes the highest-rated defensive player on the team's 2019 recruiting class.

Oklahoma had to face stiff opposition as well. Alabama, Oregon, Georgia, USC, Nebraska and others all made offers to Criddell.
