Two former Big 12 rivals collide in the Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl as Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys take on Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M Aggies.
On Tuesday, a press release from the ESPN Press Room revealed the announcing teams for the Texas Bowl.
Kevin Brown, Andre Ware, Alyssa Lang will be on the television call for ESPN. Taylor Zarzour, Matt Stinchcomb, Taylor Davis will be doing the broadcast for radio.
Oklahoma State and Texas A&M have faced each other a grand total of 27 times. Only one of those matchups was in a bowl game – the 1981 Independence Bowl, which the Aggies won 33-16.
During Texas A&M’s 16-year stay in the Big 12, the Aggies and the Cowboys played each other every year. The Aggies emerged as the more dominant side, going 10-6 and lifting their series lead to 17-10 all-time.

Oklahoma State is coming off a quietly-good season that saw them finish third in the Big 12.
Texas A&M, by contrast, finished with a worse record than last year, going just 7-5 in the regular season.
Both teams won bowl games last year, so someone won’t be repeating that feat in 2019.
The game will be played on Friday, December 27 at 6:45 p.m. EST and will air on ESPN.
