Dykes has already led two programs.

TCU offensive analyst Sonny Dykes was reported to be the frontrunner at SMU earlier today.

Now, it looks like the 48-year-old Dykes will take the job in Dallas.

Bruce Feldman and Brett McMurphy have both reported that Dykes will take over for Chad Morris with the Mustangs. Morris left SMU to become the new head coach at Arkansas

Dykes has a 41-45 overall record in seven seasons at two previous stops, Louisiana Tech and Cal. He helped tutor a pair of NFL quarterbacks, Jared Goff and Davis Webb, while at Cal.
