Charlie Strong, On Being 18.5 Point Underdogs To TCU: "I Didn't Know It Was That Bad"

The Texas season has gone about as poorly as possible. After suffering a drubbing in South Bend and picking up an expected win over Rice, Longhorns special teams have cost them back-to-back games against Cal and Oklahoma State. Things don't get any easier for Charlie Strong's club. This weekend, the Longhorns travel to Fort Worth to face No. 4 TCU this week, and Vegas has the Horned Frogs as heavy favorites in the game. The opening line is so big, it elicited a pretty genuine reaction from Strong.

If there is a bright side for Texas, it is that the Longhorns are a few botched routine plays from a possible 3-1 record. TCU's defense has struggled a bit, allowing 37 points to SMU and 52 to Texas Tech in the last two games. We don't see the 'Horns knocking off the Frogs, but 18.5 is an awfully big spread.
