4-star dual-threat quarterback Casey Thompson announced his college of choice in a ceremony today at his school.
4-star dual-threat quarterback Casey Thompson made his college decision today, and while for some it was a foregone conclusion that 6-foot-1, 184-pound signal caller would choose Texas, the event certainly wasn't without its suspense.
Per Burnt Orange Nation:
The event began with a handful of hats on the table, though Texas and North Carolina — the two favorites in his recruitment — were noticeably missing. Then, after a period of thanking numerous members of the coaching staff at Southmoore, friends, family and more, Thompson reached for and put on the Miami hat ... took it off and set it down, then pulled a North Carolina hat out from underneath the table and did the same before ultimately placing a hat of the burnt orange variety on his head and wrapping the event up with a “Hook ‘Em.”
Thompson is a the No. 7 ranked dual-threat QB in the class of 2018, per 247 Sports. It's a pretty big deal that head coach Tom Herman has already scooped up a quarterback commitment for 2018. The future is certainly bright for the Longhorns football program.
