Every day it seems like another quarterback from a Power 5 program enters the NCAA's transfer portal. Last night, Texas' Shane Buechele put his name in.

Buechele was Texas' primary starter in 2016 but was unseated by Sam Ehlinger in 2017, though he did see extensive playing time while battling injuries.

However, Ehlinger won the job outright in 2018, and Buechele played in only two games, preserving a redshirt. He will reportedly grad transfer elsewhere after obtaining his degree this spring.

Before Buechele officially began the transfer process, there were betting odds released with potential destinations for him. The eight schools mentioned were Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Miami, Houston, TCU, Kansas and Kansas State.

Those odds came out one week ago. Since then, Arkansas (Ben Hicks) and Miami (Tate Martell) have landed transfer quarterback commitments, so you can eliminate them from contention.

That leaves the other six programs mentioned, plus anyone else who wants to get involved. Considering Buechele has two years of eligibility remaining and can play immediately, he should be a sought-after commodity.

Buechele was a four-star recruit in the class of 2017. For his career at UT, he appeared in 23 games (19 starts) and passed for 4,636 yards, 30 touchdowns and 16 interceptions, while adding four touchdowns rushing.
