Al'vonte Woodard is heading to Texas on July 21, a week after he announces his commitment.
247Sports' Luke Stampini broke the news after speaking to Woodard, who many consider a Texas lean.
247 ranks Woodard as the No. 74 overall player in the class of 2018.
The site also has him ranked No. 14 among wide receivers, and No. 10 in the state of Texas.
Back in May, he announced a top five of LSU, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Texas, and Texas A&M.
From the 247Sports report:
The four-star wide receiver out of Houston Lamar told 247Sports’ Luke Stampini at The Opening check in that he would be back in Austin on July 21.
That is an extremely important recruiting nugget, considering the fact that Woodard is scheduled to make his decision on July 15.
Woodard visited Texas earlier this month for the ‘Heat Wave’ pool party, and the Longhorns are the heavy favorites in his recruitment.
That would seem to indicate that he may choose Texas on the 15th, but a commitment in July is obviously not binding.
All 13 247Sports crystal ball predictions have Woodard heading to the Longhorns.
On top of his top five, he also holds offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Auburn, Duke, Florida State, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Miami, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, and many other big programs.
