Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield will start against Texas on Saturday afternoon.
Oklahoma and Texas are set to renew their storied rivalry on Saturday afternoon, and it looks like the Sooners will have the services of their star quarterback. Baker Mayfield, who suffered an ankle injury during his team's win over TCU last week, will start for the Sooners, according to ESPN's Brett McMurphy.
That's news, considering Mayfield was photographed wearing a boot on his ankle just this morning.
Mayfield hasn't had the Heisman-caliber season that many in Norman had hoped for, but he is still the team's best option. He's thrown for 1,067 yards and touchdowns against just two interceptions on the season.
Both Oklahoma and Texas have had underwhelming seasons. But a win over your rival is always what the doctor ordered. The two teams square off today at Noon ET.
