The Texas Longhorns have looked stellar on the offensive side of the ball against Notre Dame on Sunday night. Baylor wideout KD Cannon thinks he knows why.
This past offseason, following a 5-7 campaign, Texas made a number of changes to its coaching staff, including hiring a new offensive coordinator - Sterlin Gilbert from Tulsa. It seems to be paying off. Midway through the third quarter against the Fighting Irish, Texas, running a more up-tempo offense, has gained 360 yards and scored 31 points. They scored three points against the Fighting Irish all game last year.
Baylor wide receiver KD Cannon took to Twitter while watching the game. He says that the Longhorns are running the Bears' offense.
Remember - football is a copycat sport, so even if Texas is running a similar scheme to what Baylor has been doing the past few years, that wouldn't be a surprise. After all, the Bears do have one of the most potent attacks in the country every season.
Texas is going to need to keep scoring, too. Notre Dame has cut it to 31-28 in Austin.
