Charlie Strong Releases Official Statement On Addition Of New 4-Star WR Devin Duvernay

Texas has struggled early under Charlie Strong, but the Longhorns continue to recruit well, and added a big late piece on Wednesday. Former Baylor commit Devin Duvernay was free to reopen his recruitment when it was discovered that the Bears never properly submitted his National Letter of Intent. The four-star recruit chose Texas, which Strong excitedly responded to on Twitter, without naming the unsigned prospect. Today, he officially introduced the Sachse, Texas native.

The lightning-fast Duvernay gives Texas' new offense, led by new offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert who comes from the Art Briles coaching tree by way of Tulsa head coach Philip Montgomery, another big-time weapon. Not bad for an unexpected June pick-up.
