On Saturday afternoon the Texas Longhorns faced off against the Kansas State Wildcats in a Big 12 showdown.
Before the game, several reports indicated this could be Tom Herman’s final game with the Longhorns. The Texas head coach has been the subject of rumors for the past few weeks.
Texas entered the 2020 season with Big 12 title aspirations. Instead, the Longhorns entered this afternoon’s game with a 5-3 record and no shot at a conference title win.
It appears Herman and the rest of the Longhorns heard all of the rumors about the team before today’s game. Texas decided to take all of its anger out on the poor Wildcats, who weren’t prepared for today’s onslaught.
Here’s just some of the reaction from around social media.

Texas dismantled Kansas State by a final score of 69-31. The Longhorns racked up over 600 yards of total offense en route to the 38-point victory.
Star quarterback Sam Ehlinger was an efficient 20-of-27 passing for 274 yards and two passing touchdowns. He didn’t need to do much this afternoon as the Longhorns rushing attack took over.
Star running back Bijan Robinson needed just nine carries to rack up 172 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Fellow running back Roschon Johnson carried 14 times for 139 yards and three touchdowns as well.
Texas moves to 6-3 with the win.
Was that win enough to Tom Herman to keep his job? We’ll find out.
