DeAndre McNeal, a star member of Texas’ 2015 signing class, received his release from the school earlier this month. On Monday, reports emerged that the former four-star playmaker is down to Miami, UCF, and Utah.
Today, McNeal took to Twitter to reflect on his time with the Longhorns. While he is leaving the program, he is extremely complimentary of the Longhorns, and wished them luck in the upcoming season opener against Notre Dame.

McNeal was primarily a special teams contributor as a true freshman at Texas, but did take one carry in the Longhorns’ 30-27 loss to Oklahoma State, which went for nine yards. Before he received his release to transfer from Texas, he was suspended indefinitely for an undisclosed violation of team rules.
As a recruit out of Poteet High School, McNeal was ranked No. 20 among all athletes in the 2015 class, and No. 44 in the state of Texas. He racked up 2,441 total yards and 43 touchdowns during his high school career.
