Week 1 of the college football season is finally here, but LSU and Texas fans can't wait until their programs clash next Saturday in Week 2. This includes former LSU star Derrius Guice, who recently sent a message to Matthew McConaughey.

Guice was a dominant running back for the Tigers before entering the NFL Draft. In 2016, he finished with 1,387 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns.

LSU will most likely enter its matchup with Texas as the favorite. It makes sense considering how dominant the SEC has been in recent memory.

Since the game will be played at Darrell K Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium, it's likely that McConaughey will be in attendance for this crucial showdown. He supports his alma mater as much as possible.

While McConaughey will be supporting Texas next weekend, Guice is already showing his school pride for LSU.

On Wednesday, Guice shared a photo on Twitter of him meeting McConaughey. He then told the famous actor that his Tigers would beat the Longhorns next week.

Check it out:

Guice didn't reveal if McConaughey had a rebuttal to his comment. Either way, it must have been an incredible experience for the Redskins running back.

Kickoff for the LSU-Texas game is at 7:30 p.m. E.T. in Week 2.

Before we'll see these top 10 teams battle on the field, they'll have to get through their Week 1 opponents.
