This year’s Oklahoma-Texas Red River Showdown could be one of the highest scoring games in its 120-year history. Both teams have been averaging over 40 points, with Oklahoma averaging a whopping 52 points a game.
The Sooners released their hype video for the game earlier this week. Now, the Longhorns have responded in kind with a video that “may displease Sooners fans.”
The video showed highlights of last year’s thrilling Oklahoma-Texas game, which featured behind-the-scenes footage of head coach Tom Herman hyping the team up.
Texas took a massive lead in the game and led 45-24 through three quarters. Oklahoma ultimately tied the game up with 21 fourth-quarter points before Cameron Dicker kicked a 40-yard field goal to win the game 48-45.

This year’s Red River Showdown will have some familiar faces with quarterback Sam Ehlinger and Dicker returning to the starting lineup. But it will also feature a new quarterback for Oklahoma in Jalen Hurts.
Ehlinger and Hurts are Heisman Trophy hopefuls and have shown a penchant for airing the ball out a ton.
The over/under point total for this game has been set at 75.5 point – that’s more than 10 points higher than any other game this weekend.
But Oklahoma has been pegged as having the clear advantage in this game. The Sooners are 11-point favorites this Saturday.
