The 2019 Valero Alamo Bowl will feature two notable programs with elite playmakers all over the field, as the Texas Longhorns will battle the Utah Utes.
Utah is coming off a devastating loss to Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship. If the Utes won their conference championship, the selection committee may have placed them in the College Football Playoff.
As for Texas, the historic program is in the midst of a disappointing year. The Longhorns entered this year with championship expectations, but instead they finished the regular season with a 7-5 record.
Both quarterbacks have the ability to beat defenses through the air or on the ground. Tyler Huntley and Sam Ehlinger had fantastic seasons with their respective teams.
With the Alamo Bowl still a few weeks away from taking place at the Alamodome, the ‘Worldwide Leader in Sports’ announced which broadcast team will be in attendance.
In a press release from earlier this week, ESPN announced that Dave Flemming, Louis Riddick, and Paul Carcaterra will be on the call for the Texas-Utah matchup.
This matchup between Power Five programs will take place on New Year’s Eve. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Even though it’s not a New Year’s Six bowl, fans should expect Texas and Utah to put on a show.
