College football’s transfer market has been busy over the past few weeks. The action kicked off with former Georgia quarterback Justin Fields announcing his plans to transfer to Ohio State to play for the Buckeyes in 2019.

Since then, Jalen Hurts, Tate Martell and Brandon Wimbush have all announced their transfer destinations – Oklahoma, Miami, and UCF respectively.

Now, another former top quarterback recruit is on the move. Former four-star quarterback recruit Cameron Rising announced his plans to leave Texas after the 2018 season came to a close and now he’s found his new program.

Rising is headed to the Pac-12 to join the Utah Utes. He announced the news on Twitter.

“‘I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.’ Go Utes!” Rising said on Twitter Thursday night.

247Sports had Rising rated as a four-star prospect coming out of high school in 2018. He was the No. 11 rated Pro-Style quarterback in the class, and the No. 33 prospect from the state of California.

If Rising had remained at Texas, he likely would have played backup to Sam Ehlinger for two years. By transferring to Utah, Rising has a path to the starting job by 2020 after Tyler Huntley finishes his senior year.
