Steve Patterson is out as Texas' athletic director. Patterson, formerly the AD of Arizona State, had only been in Austin, Texas, for 22 months.

Who should replace Patterson?

Some former Texas football players want it to be Mack Brown. FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman reported today that there will be a "big push" for the former Longhorns' coach to take over.

Brown, 64, would certainly be a sexy hire, but he's lacking in experience and would likely need a good bit of help to run a $100 million athletic department.
