Matthew McConaughey has been the biggest celebrity fan of his alma mater Texas for a while now. He’s really stepped it up this year.
The Hollywood A-Lister now officially has a position at the school. He was recently named the school’s “Minister of Culture” and he teaches at the Moody College of Communication in the Department of Radio-Television-Film.
Today, he was the guest picker for ESPN’s College GameDay, live from Austin. The show was in town ahead of tonight’s fantastic match-up between the No. 9 Longhorns and No. 6 LSU.
Unfortunately for McConaughey and everyone else in burnt orange, this one appears to be going to the Tigers.
LSU leads 45-38 with less than a minute left. The second half has been an absolute shootout, and Texas got within a touchdown, at 37-31, when LSU hit on a huge, potentially game-sealing touchdown.
On 3rd-and-17 with under three minutes left, Joe Burrow found Justin Jefferson on a back-breaking 61-yard touchdown.
Matthew McConaughey was caught on camera after the play, and you can’t say his reaction wasn’t totally genuine.

He is certainly representing all Longhorn fans with that F-Bomb. Texas has been hanging in tonight, especially rebounding from a very lackluster first half.
LSU has just been too much, and look like they might finally be capitalizing on the promise this program has had for years now. The Tigers offense looks better than it has in years.
Texas should be very competitive this year, but tonight, LSU sent a big message to college football.
