The weekend’s biggest college football game is going down in Austin, Texas. No. 6 LSU is on the road to play No. 9 Texas in Saturday’s primetime game.
The Longhorns are on their way back to national prominence. A win on Saturday would immediately place Texas in the playoff conversation, pending the rest of their season results.
The Tigers are wanting to continue the SEC’s dominance in games like this. Another team with playoff expectations, LSU can add a big time win to their resume. Something they may need down the line.
College football fans everywhere will tune-in to this top 10 match-up. One of those fans will be actor Matthew McConaughey. The diehard UT fan spent time on College GameDay this morning as the guest picker.
To no one’s surprise, the UT alum chose the Longhorns to beat LSU 29-27. Now, McConaughey takes to social media to deliver a pregame message to Texas fans.
“Hey, hey Longhorn nation, you know what day it is,” McConaughey said, via Twitter. “You know what’s going down tonight. We need every single one of you — heart, body and soul and a lot of volume. Hook ’em baby.”
