While the stars on the Texas Longhorns stole the show on Saturday during the spring game, Matthew McConaughey drew a decent amount of attention on the sidelines.
The Longhorns have a plethora of stars on their team for next season, which means another New Year’s Six bowl appearance could be on the horizon. After all, head coach Tom Herman will have consistency on offense with Sam Ehlinger under center.
As for the future of the program, Texas is doing an excellent job of adding key recruits. It already has five commits for the 2020 recruiting class.
Over the weekend, five-star Bijan Robinson was on campus for the Longhorns spring game. He is listed as the No. 26 overall recruit from his class, per 247Sports.
Right now, Texas doesn’t appear to be one of the 2020 prospect’s leaders, but a run-in with the famous school ambassador and Hollywood star probably doesn’t hurt.
Well, it appears McConaughey gave his best advice to Robinson during their encounter at the game. The star actor gave the blue-chip recruit one piece of simple advice to his various trips to schools around the country: “enjoy it.”
Here is a photo of Robinson next to McConaughey:

Robinson spoke to USA Today about his encounter with McConaughey, saying “Getting to meet him was great. He is a great guy, super energetic.”
Perhaps his recent visit to Texas will inspire him to move the program higher on his list.
