If Penn State is going to continue finding success from its running backs, then landing Noah Cain has to be the ultimate goal for this month. With the four-star tailback ready to make his decision very soon, the Nittany Lions might just be the favorite to receive his commitment.
This season was the year for Miles Sanders to breakout, as the junior finished with 1,223 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. However, his time with Penn State will eventually come to an end, whether he leaves for the NFL Draft this year or next, which means another running back will have to take his place.
As of right now, the current projections from 247Sports have the Nittany Lions as the favorites for the No. 7 tailback in the 2019 class.
Instead, Penn State is trending as the anticipated destination. A recent Crystal Ball run toward Texas has subsided and the last six predictions — starting with 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong — point to PSU as his landing spot. Nittany Lions running backs Ja’Juan Seider previously pursued him on behalf of the Florida Gators staff and was instrumental in getting Cain on campus twice this year.
Even though Texas is given a 39 percent chance of landing Cain, it’s pretty interesting that all the expert predictions lately side with Penn State.
Cain also has Auburn and Georgia on his list, but it sounds like it’ll come down to the Longhorns and the Nittany Lions.
His official decision will be on Dec. 19, which was the date he announced on Twitter.

Landing Cain for next season would be the perfect gift for the holidays for Penn State.
