Report: Mack Brown Fires Texas Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz After BYU Loss
Week two of the college football season was jam-packed with great games that kept fans on the edge of their seats - Georgia's Aaron Murray had a spectacular game against Steve Spurrier's Gamecocks and the Michigan vs. Notre Dame showdown came down to the wire. But the most surprising result came from the Texas vs. BYU matchup - the Cougars stomped the Longhorns, 40-21.
The Longhorns gave up 550 yards rushing to the Cougars - BYU's Taysom Hill had 259 total - an absurd number. It took just one day for coach Mack Brown to address the situation - he has fired defensive coordinator Manny Diaz.
Brown has already replaced Diaz with former defensive coordinator Greg Robinson:
Definitely an interesting move by Brown - Robinson was run out of Syracuse after four straight losing seasons.
Texas' week three matchup is against Ole Miss, which is now ranked in the AP Poll, in Memorial Stadium.
