Report: Mack Brown Was Interested In Vacant Baylor Head Coaching Job

Baylor surprised the college football world Monday by naming former Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe as the interim head coach for the 2015 season. But it turns out Grobe wasn't the only former college coach to get consideration. According to Sean Adams of AM 1300 The Zone, longtime Texas head coach Mack Brown was presented to Baylor's Board of Regents as an option. Mike Singletary was also given a look.

Brown posted impressive records at both North Carolina and Texas, even leading the Longhorns to a national title back in 2005. Obviously, it would have been a controversial move if he'd landed at an in-state rival.
