Two Texas football players had something else to celebrate yesterday besides the birth of America. They survived a scary car cash.

Texas defensive backs Kris Boyd and B.J. Foster were involved in a car accident on July 4. Fortunately, both guys are doing just fine.

The accident could have been a lot worse. Boyd shared photos of the car after the wreck and it is pretty messed up.

"Our angels had they hands over us today @nofear_2 Got rear ended and smashed!" Boyd tweeted. "We’re doing a lot better. Thank you to those who reached out. Could’ve been gone but we here."

If their car almost got sandwiched like Boyd says, the pair are very, very lucky.

Boyd was one of Texas' top defensive players as a junior in 2017. He posted 57 tackles, a team-high 15 pass breakups and two interceptions, earning second-team All-Big 12 honors in the process.

Foster, meanwhile, was a five-star prospect in the 2018 class and Texas' second-highest ranked signee. He's expected to contribute early for the Longhorns.

Thankfully both guys are just fine after this scary incident.
